Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 23, 2026
This policy covers Axol Assist and all products we offer under axolassist.com: this marketing website, Accessibility Surfer, AccessFlow, and Axol Work. We design for accessibility and minimize what we collect.
Overview
- We do not sell personal information.
- We do not run advertising or third-party analytics trackers on our marketing site.
- Browser products (Accessibility Surfer and AccessFlow) keep preferences local unless a product description says otherwise.
- Axol Work requires an account. Profile and job-related data are stored in our cloud backend so the product can function.
Website (axolassist.com)
Our marketing pages (including product pages for Accessibility Surfer, AccessFlow, and Axol Work) are static pages we host for information and downloads.
- We do not run analytics or tracking scripts on this website.
- Contact forms open your local email client; messages are sent by you through your own email provider.
- Your browser may store ordinary technical data (such as IP address and user agent) in server or CDN logs operated by our hosting provider for security and reliability. We do not use those logs for advertising.
- Theme or demo preferences, if any, may be stored in your browser’s local storage on your device only.
Accessibility Surfer (Chrome extension)
Accessibility Surfer helps you browse with dwell clicking, text controls, and reading mode. It runs in your browser.
What we collect
- Settings such as dwell timing, text preferences, and similar controls are stored in Chrome extension local storage on your device.
- We do not sell or share those settings with third parties.
- No keystroke logging or remote telemetry is performed by the extension.
Reading mode
- Reading mode extracts and displays article content entirely within your browser.
- Page content is never transmitted to Axol Assist servers. Processing happens locally.
- The list of domains where you have used reading mode is stored in extension local storage and is not shared or transmitted by us.
Clearing data
- Reset settings from the extension UI, or remove the extension to clear its local data.
AccessFlow (website accessibility toolbar)
AccessFlow is an accessibility toolbar that site owners can embed so visitors can adjust text, contrast, and related controls on that site.
- Visitor preferences are intended to stay on the visitor’s device (for example browser local storage) for that site.
- We do not require visitors to create an Axol Assist account to use the toolbar.
- Site owners who embed AccessFlow are responsible for their own site’s privacy notices. AccessFlow does not send visitor browsing content to Axol Assist for analytics.
- Script and asset delivery may go through our CDN or hosting so the toolbar can load; that may create ordinary request logs (IP, user agent) with the host, not used for advertising by us.
Axol Work (web app)
Axol Work is our shift marketplace and professional network at axolassist.com/work/ (guest preview at /demo). It uses Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore.
Account and sign-in
- You may create an account with email and password, or continue with Google or LinkedIn where those providers are enabled.
- When you use Google or LinkedIn, that provider shares basic profile information they authorize (such as name and email) with Firebase Authentication so we can create or sign in to your account.
- Your email address is kept in Firebase Authentication. It is not stored on your public Firestore profile document.
- The public guest demo does not create a real account and does not write your data to production Firestore.
Profile and product data
- We store information you provide to use the product: display name, role (Prospect or Recruiter), city, experience tags, company details, shift listings, applications, messages, network connections, posts, groups, work-history requests, reviews, and similar content you submit.
- Public profile fields may be visible to other signed-in Axol Work users as needed for hiring, networking, and community features.
Accommodation needs (Prospects)
- By default, accommodation needs are private. They are stored in an owner-only record and are not shown on your public profile.
- If you choose to share needs on your profile, those shared needs become visible to other signed-in users.
- Fit ranking for shifts uses your needs for your own logged-in session whether or not they are shared publicly.
- You can change visibility in onboarding, Settings, or Edit profile.
In-app accessibility preferences
- Font, text size, spacing, contrast, and related controls in Axol Work are stored in your browser’s local storage on that device.
Messages and reports
- Direct messages and related metadata are stored so you and the other participant can use chat.
- If you submit a report, we store the report details you provide so we can review abuse or safety concerns.
Sharing and third parties
- We do not sell personal information.
- Infrastructure: Axol Work and site hosting rely on providers such as Google Firebase / Google Cloud and our web host (for example Vercel) to run authentication, database, and static hosting.
- Sign-in providers: Google and LinkedIn process sign-in under their own policies when you choose those buttons.
- We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the safety, rights, or integrity of users and our services.
Retention and your choices
- Extension / AccessFlow local data: clear via product UI, browser storage controls, or by uninstalling.
- Axol Work: you can update profile and privacy settings while signed in. Account deletion is available in Settings for email/password accounts (re-authentication required). After deletion, we remove associated profile data we control, subject to brief backup or legal retention where applicable.
- To request help with access or deletion, email us at the address below.
Children
Our products are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
Changes
We may update this policy as products change. We will revise the “Last updated” date at the top. Continued use of the products after an update means you accept the revised policy.
